Here is what I use for a home remedy for mosquito bites for our family. I will tell you it is not the best smelling remedy but it works!
First, you need to get some raw apple cider vinegar. Most health food stores carry this. We use "Braggs Raw Apple Cider Vinegar" as it has always worked for us... for so many different things. Bug bites are no exception.
Next, you will need some cotton balls and some bandaids.
For each mosquite bite, dab a cotton ball with some apple cider vinegar mixed with water (1/2 part vinegar to 1/2 part water is good) and then put the cotton ball directly on the bite. Take the bandaid and put it across the cotton ball so that it acts as tape and keeps the cotton ball in place.
If the bug bite is small, you can just dab the mosquito bite with apple cider vinegar and tell your child not to wipe it off. Do this a few times a day... or when they are itching a lot.
Typically, the itching will stop almost instantly after applying the apple cider vinegar to the affected area.
I recommend doing this before you or your child goes to bed as it does smell. In the morning, you should notice a huge change in the bug bites and they will most likely not itch.
It has been my experience that the bites are practically gone ... if not totally gone... in a couple of days.
Again, I am not a doctor. I am just sharing my experiences with you. I hope this helps.
